Sri V V Srinivasa Rao belongs to the 1995 batch of the Indian Police Service and at present he is Addl Director General of Police, Technical Services and Training, Chairman Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board and Director Telangana Police Academy. He possesses graduate degrees in Engineering and Law and a postgraduate degree in Management. He was recipient of several medals and honours in recognition of his meritorious service.
After receiving his district training in Karimnagar, he worked in the Maoist affected areas of North Telangana including Karimnagar and Khammam districts; and AOB: especially Vishakhapatnam district. He served in Hyderabad City in various capacities including Joint Commissioner of Police, Additional Commissioner of Police (L&O) and Commissioner of Police. He functioned as the head of the vital institutions of Grey Hounds, OCTOPUS and Special Police. During the State Bifurcation, he was instrumental in facilitating the seamless division of Special Police (which constituted the predominant majority of the total divided personnel) between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh under the aegis of Sri Kamala Nathan Committee.
As Chairman of the State Police Recruitment Board he has already completed successful recruitment of nearly 36,000 personnel for Telangana Government. He has the unique distinction of having conducted the Induction Training of nearly 16,000 personnel across 29 Police Training facilities of Telangana State without a single causality during the unprecedentedly testing times of COVID-19: 2020-22.
He also has rich experience of Intelligence, Vigilance Investigation (Economic Offences) Wings owing to the fulfilling tenures that he had in SIB, RTC Vigilance and EOW (CID). The Hearts & Minds Programme of Nethra Daanam (Eye Donation) that he uniquely lead as the Superintendent of Police, Khammam fetched extraordinary laurels to the State Police besides providing eye-sight to more than 300 blind persons. He served as Director, Telangana Police Academy earlier for nearly 2 ½ years during 2020-22.
